Today, the Women in Humanitarian Response in Nigeria Initiative (WIHRINI) with support of the Austrian Study Centre for Peace and Conflict Resolution (ASPR) and Kofi Annan International Peace keeping Training Centre (KAIPTC) kick started a four (4) day Capacity Building for Humanitarian Assistance in West Africa (HAWA) Multiplier Module (MM), for Nigeria
The training aims to contribute to strengthen individual capacities in national and regional institutions to respond to humanitarian crisis in the ECOWAS region effectively. The HAWA Multiplier Module (MM) is providing mentoring to HAWA ToT graduates in Senegal, Nigeria, Mali and Burkina Faso for the designing, implementation and evaluation of training on an aspect of humanitarian assistance based on the country’s specific needs.
The specific objectives of the Multiplier Module in Nigeria are:
· Develop, implement, and evaluate a Multiplier Module on an aspect of Humanitarian Assistance for national multipliers.
· Found and foster a national network for comprehensive humanitarian assistance.
Expected outcome
· National stakeholders in humanitarian assistance from military, state authorities and civil society organisations have increased knowledge of coordination/cooperation and specific aspects of humanitarian assistance in Nigeria.
· Participants of the MM express their interest to keep in touch and exchange on humanitarian assistance.
