About the organization

SUWA started in 2003 in Nigeria with the main purpose of building the capacity of communities, to respond to the HIV/AIDS Pandemic, Orphan and Vulnerable Children (OVC) intervention, Entrepreneurship, Peace Building initiatives and contribute to the reduction of Violence against Women and Girls. SUWA Strategies include Comprehensive Approach to HIV and AIDS Intervention, Conflict Resolution and Peace Building, Women Entrepreneurship/ Income Generating Activities, OVC Intervention, Life skills Development, Vocational Skills Development, Community Mobilization, Family Life Development, Parent-Child Communication, Child Participation in Programming and Advocacy.

SUWA exists to equip individuals, families, communities and institutions to develop, manage, mitigate and sustain appropriate responses to bring about healthy life, reconciliation, peaceful co-existence and transformation in societies
